I notice that when even a slightly negative view toward,

usually AR is "winning" in a thread it is closed. Bias, makes

me not want to post here - pathetic!

A much better solution would be to give the annoying posters a time out,

a period of time where they are not allowed to post.

DiyAudio has what is called the Sin Bin where difficult members are given

a time out and not allowed to post for 1 or more weeks or something

like that, I believe that this would be much more productive than

shutting down threads.

The trigger for closing a thread is one poster casting aspersions on another poster's personality, intelligence or motives. By the time this happens, the views on both sides of whatever argument is going on have usually been stated and restated multiple times, so I'm not sure how you're concluding that any view is "winning," unless you're counting the number of times it gets repeated before the thread is closed.
