old Boston Acoustics A200's- please help me NOT screw these up

I recently found an old pair of Boston Acoustics A200's with the typical foam rot... otherwise in fantastic shape.

I refoamed the woofers, and they turned out great.

Since I picked these things up partially disassembled I don't know how they were originally assembled or connected, so I have two questions for those of you who have already figured this out.

1) The knurled knobs in the back: one labeled "0" and one labeled "8". Is "0" for the ground (black) lead and "8" for the positive (red) lead?

2) On the old original 10" woofer (the one with the humongous dust cap and the square magnet), there's a little white label that says 1980 (I think) and has a red dot on it. Is the terminal near the red dot the positive terminal?

I'd like to know before I somehow goof these things up.

Thanks!

Malcolm

Yes generally the o would be neg. and the 8 ohms is pos.

But an easy why to be sure is to use a 9 volt battery and two short wires with the insulation stripped off the ends. Note the + and - markings on the battery. With the two wires connected to the battery touch the opposite ends to the speakers input terminals. switch the wires back and forth on the speaker inputs, the position that makes the woofer cone move out when connected is in correct phase. And the wire thats attached to the plus side of the battery is the positive or + side.
