genek
It's supposed to happen automatically, but we have no idea what kind of protocol that Skynet, er, Mark, is using.
Carlspeak
As far as I know, it doesn't happen automatically. I get about 1 private email each week from frustrated speaker fans wanting to get validated. I then validate them manually once I get their sign on ID. genek
It's supposed to happen automatically. Until Mark put in the current system, I was getting up to a dozen automated validation notices a day that needed to be manually confirmed. Most of them turned out to be from spambots. Carlspeak
I don't get those validation notices Gene. Based on your experience with them, I think I'd rather not and just respond to the truly needy.
genek
Neither do I. Mark has got something running that apparently distinguishes between spambot signups and real people signups. The cries for help we're seeing are from the false positives.Or, maybe Mark's just got the system set up to reject everybody, on the theory that only those who are really serious will ask for help. Carlspeak
I believe the latter scenario is the case.
