Steve F
The PV400 was a nice bandpass sub in a tall enclosure with a small footprint. It's 65-watt amp rating was real, and would likely be listed as "125-watts" by most manufacturers today. Likewise, it's 44Hz -3dB rating was real, and every bit the equal or better of the "33 Hz" ratings that most brands lie about these days.Steve F.From the brochure:PV400The PV400 delivers powerful, articulate bass performance that's hard to believe from a such compact enclosure. With a footprint of just 10 x 11 inches (255 x 280mm), this trim unit fits almost anywhere. It's the perfect solutionto getting big bass when space is at a premium.Using a Boston-built 7-inch (180mm) DCD driver in a dual-bandpass enclosure, the PV400 responds strongly downto 44Hz (-3dB), giving music and movies a solid, satisfying foundation. Its 65-watt high-current amplifier hasspeaker, line, and crossover-bypass connections. The dual 2-inch (50mm) down-firing ports are flared at both endsto reduce audible turbulence. The PV400 may not have the same bass extension as our other subs, but in terms of clean, powerful output and lack ofaudible distortion, it's pure Boston.
