  1. goal is to get as close as possible to the original tonal balance from the Hi-Vi tweeters,in comparison to the AR Originals by altering the Crossover point for the tweeter, the Hi-Vi tweeters tend to extend into the mid freq range which tends to make the LST2 very harsh in the high end
  2. imo if the original tweeters are in the cabinets for both speakers I would highly recommend you having them refurbished if your looking to retain close to original sound qualities
  3. Here's AR-LST2 schematic with added components for tweeter mod using hi-vi tweeters or you could remove the original capacitor and replace with a 4uf capacitor
  4. Nice work @ReliaBill Engineeron the rebuild of these great tweeters. The image below is jig I used to hold the dome in place while the suspension blobs applied
  5. small flathead would work ...i had these on hand that i used
  6. Try Toluene or Acetone but use sparingly around outer edge where grille is glued to faceplate ,as glue softens you then will be able to lift screen off
  7. They had already been sitting on those stands for 1 yr with no issues, wasn't really concerned at that point ...as much as my wife giving me grief that the stands didn't match the decor was reason i set out to custom built new stands
  8. With the speaker weight and making sure that the speaker itself is centered on stand they did work well and didn't feel as a tip hazzard,i used them for about 1yr untill i custom built my own ... i still have the stands and using them with a pair of AR302
  9. When I Bought my AR-LST2 In 2002 the owner which had them used the Bose stands
  10. came across these somewhere off internet and saved them to my audio folder for possible reference for LST stands
  11. When you get the correct 10" woofers combined with Boston Fillette surrounds you'll here the responce difference in the Low end
  12. This is just my 2 cents of a guess.......if you look very closely to the 3 brown suspension blobs you'll see that there some deteriation and some loss of some of the suspension which could indicate possible degrade of output level and would require a rebuild to restore back the proper output levels... another guess would also like you are aware of most AR2ax/Ar5/AR-LST2 owners are either having there own tweeters rebuilt or choosing the HIVI replacement options not to mention shipping to the USA is rather exspensive if i had guess i would say shipping alone would be around $100us if someone purchased @ least 2 tweeters or more then the cost of the rebuild you be better off to use the HIVI new tweeters with crossover mods rather than buying your tweeters. BTW ...Why not list them on Ebay with buy now option/make offer and widen your scope of lookers ? You might get better results.
  13. They look great ...nice job... i'm curious where you got the domes and suspension material to rebuild the Tweeters?
