That's a real man's surround speaker. A pair of 9's is plenty HT for me. I actually get distracted by the surround activity.

I can't figure out why you don't need a sub either.

Hello all I just picked these up locally. they have been refoamed the 8 was a service replacement as is one of the tweet mid plate.
the tweeter ohms out a 3.8 and works great on my spare AR 9 crossover yet it is vary week in the ls. I have the stuff to put together a AR 9 upper crossover and by amp these. I have read alot about the ls haveing a lot cheaper crossover. would putting in the 9 style crossover help this alot.(with no switches).
I also read about replaceing the foam in the chamber on the bottom but can't find it now.
Thank you Jim
this makes up my system AR 9s in front 9ls in the rear 58s for the center front and rear no sub woofer

I wonder why
:D

What do you mean by "moumting rings"? maybe I'm thinking of something else. Do you mean mounting gaskets? Dale

Actually, can you share what and how you are driving these monsters with? I have a set of 9's for front L&R and do not use a subwoofer but I am driving the 9's with 2 Adcom GFA-555 II's in a vertical bi-amp configuration. I find the Subwoofer unnecessary in my opinion since the 9's fill he bill so well in that area. Dale
