Guest Johnnytheg
>Yes, I know the feeling with Layne. What is it that you are>looking for? DaleHi Dale,I'm looking for the following that I copied right from the Layne page;AR 2a to 2ax conversion kit: an upgrade kit allowing 2a owners to convert their existing cabinets to the new 2ax design. The kit consists of a new fluid cooled mid-tweeter and an adapter plate that replaces the plastic midrange sub-enclosureAR 2ax crossover upgrade kit: Use this kit to upgrade your existing 2ax crossover, or when using the 2a-2ax conversion kit, includes new poly caps for both midrange and tweeter, new level controls, and magnetic wire for modifying the stock woofer coil.I'm also looking for a suitable upgrade to replace the existing tweeters in the ar2a's.Thanks John

Guest russwollman
You might try Larry Lagace, ljlagace@aol.com, who restores vintage AR equipment. He's easy to communicate with and, in my experience, very fair in his dealings. Be sure to specify exactly what you want, because AR used a variety of components over any given production run.If you're interested in a pair of 2ax's, I have two pair I probably should sell. One pair is in original walnut veneer, which I've refinished. The other pair will be in light pecan, but they're not quite done. Both pairs have new level controls with original drivers and caps, though the woofers have new foam surrounds. And both have the original grille cloth in nice condition. I forget what 2ax's weigh, but I'm at zip 27603 should you like to investigate shipping costs (FedEx is usually the least costly of them all).I don't have a digital cam for photos, but both would show very well, satisfying anyone but the fussiest perfectionists. I always do nice woodworking tasks and take a lot of care.
