In Topic: AR 925E vs 44BX

I'd go with the 925E.  Keep in mind the 9x series of speakers is intended to be on the floor, against the back wall, and at least three feet (1m) from a side wall, with the two speakers at slightly different distances from the side walls.

The 44BX is intended to be a book shelf speaker or mounted on stands.  All the BX series are decidedly lower cost models.

go for it.

The AR58 was a bookshelf version of the AR91.  The later AR58B/BX models were not the same.  The 58S is somewhere in between, and sorry I have not researched it.

The AR58 is very different from other incarnations (B, BX, S, etc).  The 58 (no suffix) has basically the same drivers as the 91 including the dome midrange, the models with a suffix have a larger cone mid range drive.

" They will be sat on carpet on a concrete floor should I put spikes on the speakers or granite or not at all? .... "

No granite, no spike - try that first.

Spikes into concrete will be very challenging.  At approximately 60Kg; AR9 speakers don't move around.
