AR11 and HiVi Q1R

Hi

I have replaced my blown AR11 tweeters with the HiVi Q1R and have also replaced all the caps. they fit nicely. I didnt use the inductor with the HiVis that was recommended for the AR3a. They seems to be OK although they may be a bit bright. I can control this with the switch on the back.

I am a bit concerned as the Q1R is a 6 omh speaker where the originals were 4 ohm. Also they are only rated at 15 watts nominal power handeling 30 watts max.

Should I be concerned with any of this?

AR11 Crossover need help

Hi

I will be replacing the caps on my AR11s. I have attached a photo of the crossover and would appreciate some varification that I am on the right track. Is the large silver canister the 122 uF cap with the smaller black tubes the 40 and 10uF caps?

It looks like the caps to be replaced for the AR11 are 10 MFD, 40 MFD and 122 MFD (50 and 72). How close to these values must I get? for example will a 120mfd replace the 122 MFD or can a 39 MFD replace the 40 MFD? Finding caps with these exact values seems to be difficult. Imm looking at the Solen 400v PB series.

Vintage AR (ebay) has a number of speaker replacements for AR speakers. Are these any different than those offered by ABtech? In particular I'm looking at the AR 9 tweeter replacement?
